How to make instant pot yogurt starter?
Today when I wanted to make yogurt, I ran out of culture and I’m not fond of the sticky, gooey yogurt which we get it stores. So I decided to make my yogurt culture from scratch.
This is the method I follow every time after my long trip to India. This time for a change I want to test with instant pot and see whether this method works and it was a success.
So I decided to share the procedure on how to make a yogurt starter from scratch using Instant Pot.
How to make yogurt culture from scratch – Instant Pot
If you don’t have the instant pot also it is not a problem. You can use the same method to make the yogurt culture in your stovetop or microwave as well.
All you need is just two ingredients to make this yogurt culture.
Before moving on to the step by step procedure let us see how to make the yogurt culture at home with the instant pot.
Take 1/2 cup of milk and place it inside the instant pot. Make sure there is water in the stainless steel pot. Close the lid and warm it for 5 minutes. open the lid and add the stems of green chili (3-4 stems)in the warm milk and close the lid and set to yogurt mode for 8 hours.See if your culture is ready. Now throw the green chili stems from the yogurt. Your yogurt culture is ready to make the next batch of fresh yogurt. It’s that simple.

How to make yogurt culture from scratch - Instant Pot
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3-4 stems Green Chilli I used thai green chilli
Take 1/2 cup of milk and place it inside the instant pot.Make sure there is water in the stainless steel pot.
